Takeaways: not only study the brightness and angle of light in terms of time, but also the likely position of the people you’re photographing. This wasn’t so obvious until I was in Dolores Park and discovered that most people prefer facing downhill, sensibly enough. That meant that most people had the sun at their backs, which is damn nearl impossible to work with.
