these are some of the better shots – in roughly chronological order – that i’ve taken since i bought a new camera in fall 2024. i dunno, maybe there are a dozen somewhat interesting pictures among these? the learning curve is steep and i don’t know if i have any talent or not. but talent may be beside the point, at least for now. i’m a long ways from developing an aesthetic or artistic philosophy. this is just what my photos look like while i’m swerving around on training wheels. it strikes me that fun and work are essential to ground a photography practice, stay motivated, take better photos and have richer encounters with your subjects.
the photo above the gallery is poorly exposed – everything was in the shadow of a building behind me – but i like the fact that i captured a major dude at an opportune moment who wanted to collab with me, and i don’t dislike the other elements of the scene other than the blown out left side of the image.
